Behaviour, uniforms and the law
In theory, everything is allowed: Swastikas, SS runes, Totenkopfs etc. However re-enacting as a hobby is not very well known, so it sould be wiser to wear uniform only in the actual re-enactment happening and use civilian clothes when outside the area. German salutes are not a very good idea either.Firearms laws
It is legal to own firearms in Finland, and almost everyone, especially in the countryside, do have a gun of some kind, hunting rifles are most common ones. Person with gun collector status can own all kinds of firearms, even full-auto.In re-enactment happenings de-activated weapons are strongly recommended to avoid any accidents. Possession of live-fire weapons in a show is also a security hazard, guns may get stolen.
Road rules
In Finland you must have a relevant driving license for the vehicle that you are driving, vehicle documents (register book etc) and insurance, green card is highly recommended. Your vehicle must be certified as roadworthy according to your own laws. Modern day vehicle equipment, like fire extinguisher, first-aid outfit and day glow jacket are not demanded by law, but it is advisable to have them in the vehicle. All vehicles must use driving lights in daylight as well when driving outside a city. However it is recommended to use headlights at all times.As always, when you're in a foreign country for a reenactment, listen to the natives and follow their advice. And do not draw unnecessary attention to yourself and follow common sense.
