AFRA BUSINESS for DURATION of WAR & PEACE

Can we bring to your attention that membership applications for the period from today (15 July 2010 until 27 July 2010 will be on hold due to our attendance at War and Peace.

We are aware of a number of applications and we have tried to process as many as possible to facilitate people's needs.

We thank you for your patience in the matter - Replacement cards, Lost cards and all other matters will also be on hold until our return.

We are at War and Peace and will be pleased to speak to members and prospective members on matters AFRA but outside of show hours due to the workload we have in servicing the re-enactment displays.

We look forwards to meeting as many of you as possible and are gratified to see in excess of 120 members have completed Risk Assessments to attend.

Have a good, safe and memorable show.

AFRA Exec.

PROMO FILM SHOOT UPDATE

Nick Lewis is still waiting to hear from Re-enactors who can get to Lincoln this weekend to play German Soldiers in an exciting film shoot for TLSx. As said ther are expenses available and food etc. on site - Also the chance to work with some devilish pyro and get your face on You Tube for posterity.

Short notice as we said but it would really be a big help if some of you crack Germans out there could manage it. You just need combat kit and replica or deacts - airsoft would work and a blank firer or two would be a bonus but not essential.

The location is worth seeing in itself - It's a normally closed facility with oodles of interesting goodies to poke your nose into. If you go they might even show you a piece of the Tirpitz! and it's a BIG BIT!

Go on - the World Cup's over for us so if you are at a loose end this weekend look at your last AFRA email and give Nicka buzz to get smoething arranged. They need 8 bodies but will stretch to 10..... give your mates a shout - I know the crew and they are a riot to work with - not your usual arty farty types.....

WELCOME MORE NEW MEMBERS!

Well we are at the end of June 2010 and still people are making a conscious decision to enter the AFRA fold. Along with 5 late renewals we have just sent out 17 new memberships to a wide variety of people within our sphere.
We at AFRA would like to welcome you all and those with applications being processed. We ant to thank our entire membership for their continued support and to affirm our commitment to advancing the hobby at a manageable pace.
There are still several surprises in the offing and we will announce these as soon as possible - meanwhile we continue to see a healthy number of members enjoying events across the UK and now into Europe.
AFRA members now attend more events than any other named group in the UK. This pleases us immensely. It means you are an active Association and that our hard work to support you is worthwhile.

We look forwards to seeing many of you at War and Peace and we wish you well for the height of the season and the rest of 2010.
